When I started painting this last week, I wasn’t sure what direction I was going to go with it. I finished the blue and green section and let it go for a few days. Then, staring at that with the black background, I thought about how God spoke the universe into existence. He said “Light be”, and there was light. I then thought about how the black was the formless void before God spoke. I can only imagine what it must have looked like to watch creation! So, I worked with the background and am pretty happy with how it came out.
