Wanting to be (like) someone else to the point of trying to change who you are at your core is basically telling God he screwed up in making you who you are. But, He didn’t, because He can’t and won’t. God made you with a purpose and a plan in mind (Jer 29:11). There is nothing wrong with aspirations and bettering yourself. Just don’t kill off the true you in the process of finding your place in the world (Mat 16:26). Putting yourself down only puts down the Creator. Seek God (Mat 6:33) and let Him show you who He intended for you to be and embrace it! You were fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14).
