Thanksgiving is upon us. What are you thankful for?
This is the time of year we tend to reflect on the past year of our lives and think about what we’re thankful for, other than gorging ourselves with turkey, stuffing, and pie… mmm… pie…
I am very thankful for all of my friends and family, even if we don’t see each other but on social media or once every several years. If you are in my life, know that you are loved by me.
I have seen many changes in my life over this past year. I am most thankful for God’s grace, love and provision in both my life and that of my family’s. We have seen abundant provision and blessings, especially in the second half of the year. I’ve seen spiritual growth in all of us, seeking and burning for a stronger and closer relationship with our Creator and our Savior.
Reflecting back upon my past, I look back at a broken person, full of anger, rage, mistrust, selfishness, conceit… The list goes on and on. I know there were many years where I was a real “jerk” to be around (and that’s putting it cleanly). To those of you who I have ever been that way to in my past, I sincerely apologize to you and regret my actions and attitudes back then. I am thankful to have breath in me to ask your forgiveness and hope that my apologies are accepted. If not, I truly understand, and am thankful for you still being in my life through the worst of it. I have changed a lot in the last 6 years, even more so in the last year. I am not that moody and hateful person I used to be. I can only give credit to the grace of God to give me a new outlook and my Savior for fixing my life.
So, this holiday season, I pray that God covers you with all of the blessings he has had planned for your lives, since the beginning of time. I pray that your holidays are full of fun, thankfulness, safety, and love. I pray that you and your families grow closer together and closer to God. I pray for healing where it is needed, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally, over you and yours. I pray for peace in your hearts and minds. All of this in the powerful name of Jesus!
Thank you and thank God for you!
