OK, so for my first blog post, I didn’t want to have the typical “Hello world!” post. Seriously, as an artist, it isn’t all that creative. Instead, I want to share what I’m about, what I want to accomplish, etc.
I’m just about finished with my actual web site. It needs a few little touches here and there before I put it out for the world to see. There isn’t much artwork on display there yet, since I’m an emerging artist, and time has been thin as of late. But, the ball has to start rolling somewhere, right?
I am a Christian artist. I have found that my faith in Jesus Christ has brought out the creativity that has been trapped in my logical brain. I grew up being artistic, creative, etc., but as I grew older, I found that I’m a very logical creature. I was a mechanic for almost 14 years. During the last 2.5 years of that time, I went back to college at DeVry University and completed my Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Computer Information Systems. Two weeks after I graduated, I secured a position at a small local software development company that launched my career as a software engineer. Now, that doesn’t sound very creative, does it?
Over the last 3 years or so, I’ve been yearning to get back into music and painting, more so the latter. During this 3 year period, I’ve been occasionally been asked to paint during worship service at my church, The River of Life. If you would like to see those, take a look at my website, under Portfolio > Worship Art, or click here. I plan on doing this a lot more in the near future. I have had so many people in my church come up and tell me that God has great plans for me and my creative ability, more than I could imagine. Well, this is the starting point of that. I’m stepping out in faith that God is taking the reins and driving it to success.
Please feel free to come back and visit often, as I will be updating this, as well as the rest of the site, as often as I can. Thanks and God bless!
